Our Board of Trustees
Gill O’Hare – our Chairperson. Gill has a number of years experience working in the statutory sector working alongside communities to access sport and leisure opportunities. Gill has recently gained an insight into the social care sector in her role as Transformation Manager for Stoke Council. Gill has a real passion in enabling people with additional needs to lead an ‘ordinary’ life using the community and services around them.
Sarah Steel – our Treasurer. Sarah and her husband Dathan own and run Timperley accountancy firm Longmires Ltd Business Accountants. Sarah has her watchful eye over our accounts and makes sure that our Board are updated and that we are ready to submit our accounts to the Charity Commission when they are due. Sarah is passionate about supporting those in need and is a real asset to Creating Adventures as we grow, using her business knowledge to guide us.
Paul Mirage- Trustee. Paul is part owner of Greater Manchester Business Connect Magazine. Paul is our marketing and networking brains of the board using his years’ experience in the publishing industry to good use. Paul also ran a local newspaper in Altrincham for many years. For Paul, as the saying goes ‘It’s not what you know, it’s who you know’ is very true! With his keen ability to network in and around Manchester, Paul is able to work his magic with his contacts.
Jenny Allcock – Founding Chief Officer
Jenny founded Creating Adventures in 2016 after working in the voluntary sector for a children’s charity for 11 years. Jenny was made aware of the heartbreaking gap in society for adults with autism and learning disabilities and decided to do something about it. Jenny has a real passion for wanting to make a difference to people’s lives and for wanting to make the world a better place. With her knowledge of fundraising and working with children with additional needs, Jenny is taking Creating Adventures to the greatest heights with huge plans for unique activities and has her vision set at Creating Adventures having it’s own physical space in the community.
Naz Sheikh – Art Session Leader – Naz is amazing! She is our creative member and although Naz is freelance, she also feels like part of the team supporting Jenny in the early days to apply for funding to make these sessions happen. Naz loves working in our Art Club and although its every Monday, she even admits to enjoying getting up each and every Monday for the Art Club.
Marc Jenyon – Choirmaster – Marc is new to working with Creating Adventures but is an absolute pleasure to work with and we can clearly see why he is choirmaster. He is full of energy and enthusiasm in making our adults feel comfortable and happy as they sing their hearts out.
Being a small charity, we have a small team of wonderful volunteers who help with anything from administration support to assisting in our Art Club.
It’s a family affair for Creating Adventures as Jenny’s family get stuck into helping out wherever they can. Jenny’s parents Denise and Brian are always on hand to help out in the office and at events and Jenny’s husband Stu is on hand to help put up gazebos and to generally be a rock in supporting Jenny with the charity. Gill O’Hare is Chairperson but is also Jenny’s sister.
